Companies running Chinese apps continue to dismiss data tampering
New Delhi. Indian security agencies have cited 50 Chinese apps including TikTok, Wechat, Shareit, UC Browser, Beauty Plus, as threats to the country's security. Not only this, shopping apps for women, Shen (Shien), and Club Factory have also been called dangerous in terms of security.
According to the Hindustan Times report, talks are underway at the government level to close some Chinese apps. The report claims that some Chinese apps may pose a threat to the country's security. In such a situation, the government has been advised to block these mobile applications or the Indians should not use these apps. However, the government has denied reports of a ban on the Chinese app. According to the government, no such directive has been issued.
Chinese apps can be spied
According to the report, important data related to the country and security is being sent outside India through these Chinese apps. The location of the phone and all the apps used in the phone store important information with them. In such a situation, these companies keep every data of all Indians using these apps. Experts related to this show that it is mandatory for every Chinese company to share their data with the Chinese government. Chinese intelligence agencies and the Chinese military can formulate a strategy to attack the country with these data. In many cases this may be happening, but the Chinese government never officially confirms it.
