Government sought details from Patanjali on 'medicine' of Covid-19, publicity ban till completion of investigation

A few hours later, the Ministry of AYUSH asked him to provide as soon as possible the quantity and other details of various herbs present in this medicine.

Also, the ministry has also ordered the company to stop promoting this product until the subject is investigated.

Patanjali Ayurved, while presenting the drug 'coronil', claimed on Tuesday that it has found a cure for Covid-19.

However, the ministry said that it is not aware of the facts of this claim and the details of the scientific study being done. Patanjali has been asked to provide sample size, location, and details of hospitals where research studies were done.

According to the report of NDTV, the Ministry has told the Patanjali Group not to publicize this medicine until this claim is tested.

Along with this, a copy of the approval of this product has also been sought from the concerned licensing authority of the Government of Uttarakhand.

Explain that there is no scientific evidence that this drug is effective in the treatment of Covid-19, nor has it been approved by the Ministry of Health nor the ICMR.

The Ministry of AYUSH on Tuesday evening said in a statement, 'The concerned Ayurvedic medicine manufacturer has been informed that such advertisement of medicines including Ayurvedic medicine is the Drugs and Miracle Measures (Objectionable Advertisement) Act, 1954 and the rules and regulations under it. In view of the proliferation of -19, it is regulated by the directives issued by the central government.

Earlier on Tuesday, Ramdev told reporters at Patanjali Yogpeeth in Haridwar, "This medicine is benefiting 100 percent (Covid-19) patients." Controlled clinical trials were conducted on 100 patients, in which 69 percent were cured within three days and 100 percent of patients were cured within four days and their test report was negative.
It was told on behalf of Patanjali that Giloy, Tulsi, Ashwagandha, Shvasari Ras etc. have been used in making the medicine.


The company said that this drug of Rs 545 will be available within a week at Patanjali's store. Simultaneously an app will also be launched with the help of which orders can also be made online.

Ramdev told that Nimes University of Jaipur is his partner in this project. Ramdev said, "We are presenting corona medicines coronil and sanshari today. We have done two trials of these drugs. The first is a clinical control study, which has been done in Delhi, Ahmedabad and many other cities.

He told, 'We included 280 patients in the trial and 100 percent patients were cured. We were able to control the corona and its herds. With this, all the necessary clinical control trials were done. '

Earlier in a report by the Newslaundry website, Patanjali's Managing Director Acharya Balakrishna questioned the claims related to the treatment of corona, making medicines and its clinical trials.

The report said that Acharya Balakrishna claimed that thousands of corona-infected patients have been treated with Patanjali's medicines, while Patanjali Research Foundation's team co-head Vaidya Nischal Narendra Pandya said that more than 100 of the coronavirus The patients have recovered from Ayurvedic medicines and this was a case of mild symptoms.
